Christmas can be a time of stress about food and weight. Here are the strategies I apply to keep me feeling happy over Christmas.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Drink enough water. Thirst can be mistaken for hunger. If you’re thirsty you’ll knock back the booze a lot quicker. Enough said.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Choose when (& how) you booze. Are there some occasions where you could have less drinks or even no drinks? At the very least have a glass of water between alcoholic drinks.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fill half your plate with salad or veg. How many times have you looked down at your tower of a Christmas plate and wondered if you’ll even be able to get through it! Fill most of it with leafy salads as a priority and you’ll naturally add smaller portions of the heavier stuff.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t arrive hangry. Have some healthy snacks before you arrive to any functions so you’re not ravenous when you are confronted with a table of Christmas treats.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take a healthy platter.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be kind to yourself and enjoy. Be realistic about any health goals, now is not the time to stress about any weight or fitness goals that you have.
What other strategies do you use? ?? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
