Day 2: The Art of Conversation
Talking ? Day #2
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Firstly. If you’re having gut trouble, talk to your Doctor and/or Dietitian to find any underlying cause/s
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some things you can do:
• Get a balance of fibre types. Too much soluble can lead to loose stools, and too much insoluble may make constipation worse
• Super foods when it comes to Fibre are: vegetables and fruit – variety is key with skin left on where possible, lentil, legumes, grains (quinoa and freekeh are particularly good), oats, chia, flaxseed, bran, fibre enriched cereals
• Drink more water (includes tea and coffee). Aim for 2L daily
• Exercise daily. Even light exercise will help
• Visit the toilet a specific time each day – to train your gut to move regularly
• Implement strategies to decrease stress
• Include probiotic rich foods such as yoghurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, cottage cheese, Kefir, Miso, Tempeh, Kombucha (check sugar levels).
• If you are after a fibre supplement- check the ingredients list for a combo of soluble AND insoluble! Many are soluble because this makes them easy to consume since they can be mixed into water.
Well folks, it seems like we’ve got ourselves a new trend sweeping the nation – DIY face masks! With everyone stuck at home, people are getting creative in the kitchen and whipping up all sorts of concoctions to put on their faces.
I mean, who would’ve thought that avocado, honey, and oats could make a fabulous face mask? Not to mention the classic cucumber slices on the eyes for a little extra spa-like experience. It’s like having a fancy facial right in the comfort of your own home.
But let’s not forget about the wacky ingredients people are throwing into these masks – from turmeric to egg whites, it seems like anything goes in the quest for glowing skin. I heard someone even tried putting mustard in their mask…now that’s dedication!
So, if you’re feeling adventurous and in need of a little self-care, why not raid your pantry and whip up a homemade face mask? Just don’t forget to take a selfie and share your results with the world – because who doesn’t love a good before and after shot? Happy masking, folks!
