❌Don’t strive for constant body positivity.❌
.
It’s unrealistic to expect someone to love the way their body looks 24/7. It can leave you feeling just as frustrated as hating your body does. ?
.
Instead? ➡️ Try striving for neutrality.
.
Strive for acceptance. Strive for respect. This is what I teach in @the_socieaty. This can coexist with not loooooving the way your body looks in the mirror. Because our society has taught us to not love the way it looks. That is how we are conditioned, unfortunately. So we need to ask ourselves ? “how can we realistically call a truce with our body and start working towards being more accepting, appreciative, and respectful of it?”
.
That’s not to say you might not have moments of positivity. I sure hope ya do! ?But know that it’s okay if those moments aren’t all the time. For most people they aren’t. But you can still get out of the hatred cycle and simply be at peace.❤️
.
When we shift our focus to appreciation we can start to care for our bodies. We feed them a balance of foods that feel good mentally and physically. We move them in ways we enjoy and that they need to function optimally. You can’t make peace with food if you don’t make peace with what you put that food into.
.
And if you’re thinking “I wanna be more accepting but I also wanna lose weight… can I do that with intuitive eating?!” I’ll link my blog post on wanting weight loss & food freedom in my bio for you. It’s one of the resources I give out ALLLL the time! Hope it’s helpful!
