Hands up ?if you can relate!
.
Close your eyes and imagine a nice, fresh loaf of banana bread. ?The sweet smell and the warmth of the oven…. Ugh… a vibe or what?! Open your eyes again… and wipe the drool from your face ?
.
As an intuitive eater it’s SO exciting to be able to have fun in the kitchen baking your favorite nanner bread recipe- ya know the ones WITH butter and sugar! ?And you’re like on this high of “Heck yes! I am LiViNg LyFe!!” Right?!
.
So you pop that loaf out of the oven and take a bite of a still-warm slice with butter on it. ?Heaven. Oh, SO good. I want another. And another. And another. And then you think…..
.
“OMG I’m SO full! I SUCK at intuitive eating! I’m broken!” ?
.
…been there…?‍♀️
.
Here is the thing, gorgeous. You’re not broken. ?‍♀️So many members of @the_socieaty (where I coach you step-by-step how to get unstuck with intuitive eating!) were there once too. And so was I. Here is what I’d recommend ⬇️
.
1️⃣Firstly, I recommend focusing on body attunement meaning your hunger, fullness and satisfaction. If you don’t start with this then of COURSE you won’t be able to stop eating!
.
2️⃣Secondly, you want to work on food “normalization” really it’s exposure therapy to the food. For this I recommend multiple touch points throughout the day for example: crumbling some banana bread into your smoothie bowl in the AM, having a slice with lunch, adding some to your yogurt as a snack, etc. Don’t just allow yourself it 1x a day otherwise your body will think “I won’t get this for 24 more hours! I need to make sure I get enough now!”
.
Intuitive eating is so oversimplified on social media and it leads you to think YOU are the one at fault and it doesn’t “work” for you. That’s not true! Don’t fall for the watered down version you see everywhere. It’s a less “sexy” approach but I’ve taught thousands of women this step-wise process to become intuitive eaters to help them finally “get it”! You can do it too!
