Here’s some of the top #nutrition trends we will see in 2020.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Convenience. With so many trying to eat healthy and save time- home delivered ingredient boxes will continue to be popular.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Plant based proteins. As long as we eat a range of plant proteins, we can get all the amino acids we need from plants. Trying to reduce meat consumption and the added health benefits of eating more plants makes this a great move.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Sustainability. A few ways you can eat more sustainably.
– Check packets or company websites for info on how they source ingredients.
– Reduce your food waste by planning your meals and snacks, shopping from a list.
– If you eat meat- eat moderate amounts.
– Eat more plants.
– Look for the @wwf logo to mark responsibly produced products.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Being Flexitarian. In an effort to increase plants and reduce meat intake we will see people opting in and out of eating meat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Gut health. With even more of a focus on prebiotics (the food for the beneficial bacteria in our gut) but also POSTbiotics. Put simply, postbiotics are like probiotics but are not live strains (they’re immobilised/dead/non-viable)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Volume eating. Also sometimes referred to as ‘volumetrics.’ In an effort to eat healthy without deprivation or counting calories or macros, volume eating will be a popular move this year.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Which of these have you been seeing already this year?
