Intuitive eating snack tips! ?

With no food rules you can eat ANYTHING! But that doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t think about nutrition and the makeup of your snacks.?♀️

When I’m picking a snack I usually ask myself first: Is there anything I’m craaaaaving? Like need to have now, nothing else will satisfy me? Sometimes the answer is yes, like if I’m really wanting a chocolate chip cookie ? but usually it’s something more general like “I want something sweet!” or “Cottage cheese sounds good!”

From there, I build on my choice and consider adding:
.
1️⃣ a couple macronutrients to give my snack more long lasting, stable energy.
2️⃣ whole grains and/or fiber to help keep me full longer.
3️⃣ some color for a micronutrient punch!
4️⃣ satisfaction- I want it to still taste enjoyable! (these 3 ingredient PB balls are on my blog linked in bio- snag the recipe!)

If adding any of these things would drastically take away from my satisfaction and enjoyment or the “hitting the spot” with my snack I won’t add them and I don’t worry about it! That’s the key ➡️ gentle nutrition! ❌None of that obsessive and rule-y stuff! ❌

For the most part I WANT to implement as many areas as I can because it makes my body feel better! ❤️ For the most part, friends. ?That’s key. Sometimes ya just want mid-day ice cream and that’s fine!
