MERCURY IN SEAFOOD
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyone who eats a lot of seafood should try to always opt for low mercury fish options. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you also need to limit serves even of the lower mercury fish because of risk of neurological effects on Bub/s.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In Aus seafood intake while pregnant and breastfeeding recommendations are: Fish types that must be limited and with no additional serves of fish during the same time period due to higher mercury levels are; perch, orange roughly or catfish (1 serve per week), and swordfish, broadbill and Marlin (1 serve per fortnight)
