Mixed Fruit Dessert – HALO HALO
HALO HALO?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️About half the calories of many regular ice creams
✔️Delicious (birthday cake & candy bar are my surprising favourites)
✔️<1tsp added sugar per 50g serve compared to 3-4tsp or more depending on brand
✔️Dairy free options are available for those who have lactose intolerance or dairy allergy
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
〰️You will pay premium for this product as it is unique to the ice cream market (Based on what is available in Aus)
〰️While some of the flavours promote ‘protein’ on the label, the amount eaten per serve is not at the level that would make you ‘full’ so this would not influence my choice
〰️These products contain sugar alcohols which have the benefit of adding sweetness without the ‘added’ sugar or calories because our bodies don’t absorb them. Good from a calorie and added sugar perspective but may be poorly tolerated by people with IBS who are sensitive to this ingredient group.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also to answer your question @breedalane - If you’re counting macros sugar alcohols do not need to be counted as our bodies absorb very little of them
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Of course small amounts of your usual ice cream can be included sometimes too but @halotopau could be a good addition to your freezer!
Ah, the age-old debate of cats vs. dogs. It’s a topic that never fails to spark lively discussions and passionate arguments among pet lovers everywhere.
On one side, you have the loyal, affectionate dog lovers who can’t imagine life without their furry companions by their side. They extol the virtues of dogs as man’s best friend, citing their unwavering loyalty and boundless energy. “Who needs an alarm clock when you have a dog licking your face at the crack of dawn?” they joke.
But then there are the cat aficionados, who prefer the independent, mysterious nature of their feline friends. They appreciate the low-maintenance lifestyle that comes with owning a cat, noting that they don’t have to worry about taking them for walks or cleaning up after them in the yard. “You want to go for a walk in the rain? Not meow problem,” they quip.
Of course, both sides have their fair share of arguments to support their chosen pet. Dog lovers will point to the joy of coming home to a wagging tail and slobbery kisses after a long day at work. Cat lovers will counter with the soothing purr of a content kitty curled up in their lap while they binge-watch their favorite TV show.
At the end of the day, whether you’re Team Cat or Team Dog, one thing is for certain – the love and companionship that our pets provide is truly irreplaceable. So let’s agree to disagree and just revel in the fact that we have these wonderful creatures in our lives to bring us joy and laughter, no matter which side of the pet debate we fall on.
