Personally I am not a huge fan of smoothies. They tend to be grossly unbalanced and very calorie dense. Provided they’re balanced, they can make an ok option for breakfast but unless you burn a lot of calories, they tend to be too much for a standard snack.

Some smoothies contain more than TWENTY teaspoons of sugar. While some of this usually comes from fruit – this is a still huge load for our bodies to process at one time.

The large sugar load combined with smoothies commonly containing not much protein means they may leave you feeling hungry again not long after.
