​We tend to be guided more by external factors like what time it is or visual cues. Advertising, vending machines, food outlets and generally having greater access to food and more food in our pantry have skewed how in touch we are with our hunger cues.

​If you think you’re out of tune, then using a hunger scale can be a useful tool to start to check in and be more guided by your body as to when it is time to eat.
