Reminder ➡️ It’s OK to ask for help.
.
5 weeks ago I started therapy after, well… years of knowing I should. When I previously went to therapy it was during the time that I was really struggling with my eating disorder & body image. It was super helpful then and as I learned to live with no food rules I stopped going. The issue at hand was resolved, made sense to me.?♀️
.
Even without food rules I’m someone who struggles with anxiety. I’ve struggled with it even before I had my food rules. But since I couldn’t point to a “reason” for the anxiety, it was just.. Me being me… I struggled with committing to therapy. I worried about the time it would take, the financial investment, did I really neeeeeed it?, etc.
.
Finally I decided to ask for help. And it’s just been the best thing ❤️ I’m privileged that I have access to and the ability to afford therapy, I 180% realize not every is. But I want to encourage you today to ask for help if you need it. It’s not weak. It’s actually a very strong thing to do. And it can have a huge impact on your day-to-day quality of life.
.
Some other ways to get “help” ➡️ getting a food from a local library on a topic you’re struggling with, listening to a podcast on that topic or following an IG account to help (all free options!) or maybe you do decide to ask for help from a professional (I hear @the_socieaty is a great place if your struggle is with food ?)
.
Moral of the story here, ask for help when you need it ❤️ No one is perfect.

Sending you a big virtual bear hug on this lovely Monday- cheers to a fab week ahead!!
