SENSING SOMETHING FISHY?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To answer your question about farmed fish @carmel_duffy ☺️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fish farms are necessary to meet demand. Unfortunately, we would quickly deplete the wild supply without farms
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some fish farms do use Antibiotics and other chemicals to control diseases. The risk of disease is higher for farmed fish because of the large number of fish in a smaller area compared to wild fish. However, different farms use different products and levels
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Unfortunately there is no magic way to avoid chemicals, fungicides and pesticides in farmed fish. Only a small % of imported fish is tested for prohibited chemicals and domestically produced fish may not be tested at all so you probably won’t find any info on the labels
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some guidelines
➖Buy local where possible
➖Buy Wild caught where affordable
➖Avoid any fish imported from China (high contamination rates detected)
➖As with all foods, variety and moderation are key. 2-3 serves of fish per week is ok for most of us
➖Buy fish from a speciality seafood shop where possible. Get friendly with the staff- ask questions about the origin and the practices of the farm where the fish has come from

Well folks, brace yourselves for some light-hearted banter on a topic near and dear to our hearts – the eternal battle between cats and dogs. One might think this debate has been settled long ago, but the feud rages on.
Now, let’s talk about those sneaky felines – cats. They’re the masters of stealth, appearing out of nowhere with their whiskers twitching and ready to pounce on anything that moves. Have you ever tried to sneak up on a cat? Good luck with that. They have eyes in the back of their heads and a sixth sense for trouble.
And then there’s man’s best friend – dogs. They are loyal, goofy, and always down for a game of fetch. There’s nothing quite like coming home to a wagging tail and sloppy kisses. Not to mention, they make excellent companions for long walks, runs, or just Netflix binging on the couch.
But let’s not forget the age-old rivalry between the two. Cats think they rule the world, while dogs just want to be everyone’s best friend. It’s like a sitcom waiting to happen – “The Odd Couple: Furry Edition”.
In conclusion, whether you’re Team Cat or Team Dog, there’s no denying the joy and love these furry creatures bring into our lives. So let’s set aside our differences and appreciate the unique quirks of both species. After all, life would be pretty boring without them.
