SAVE THIS GUIDE ☝? Firstly, let’s be ok with a bit of added sugar! Our bodies know how to handle a bit- some is FINE!

It’s when we go overboard that’s the issue.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No more than 6tsp of added sugar each day is the recommendation. Some sources are obvious and others not so much which means it can add up quite quickly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why checking the ingredients list is important if you’re looking for added sugar. Comment below if you want me to tag you in a previous post for ingredients to look for!

One of the challenges is differentiating between added and naturally occurring sugars in some products (ie. yoghurts) but hopefully labelling guidelines will change so that companies have to state how much is added. As a general guideline, if a ‘sugar’ is listed in the first 3 ingredients on the ingredients list- the product probably contains a fair bit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve also recently done an IGTV that explains this- I’ll link it in my stories.
