SPOT THE ADDED SUGAR
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A little bit of sugar is OK but overall we should minimise added sugars. @who recommends max of 6tsp of added sugar each day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Differentiating between added and naturally occurring sugars (which are not the issue) found in foods such as milk, yoghurt, fruit and some vegetables is key! Unfortunately most labels don’t distinguish between a naturally occurring sugar and added sugar which makes it hard to tell what’s what. @foodstandardsanz making differentiation mandatory would make it much easier for consumers!

Check the ingredients list for these to spot some of the most common added sugars ????
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ingredients are listed in order of weight, so the higher the ‘sugar’ in the list- the more the food contains.
