You can’t ? It’s a mindset shift.

Every Wednesday (that’s today! ?) on my stories I do a full day of eating. And I sometimes get comments like ➡️ “You eat so healthy! I could never do that with no food rules!” And it’s true that I do eat a lot of nutrient rich foods.?♀️ But I also enjoy things like cookies and ice cream.

On these full days of eating I walk you through WHY I’m making my food choices and one of the huge reasons as to why I eat nutrient dense foods ? for the most part is because it FEELS good to my body.

When I first started intuitive eating I got “stuck” eating all of the previously deemed “bad” foods ???? Every time I tried to give my body veggies a little voice crept in saying “Oooh are you dieting again?! That’s not the food freedom choice!” ? Can you relate?!

Well, I was frenemies with that voice for waaaaaay too long.? What ended our dysfunctional relationship was learning how to gain instrinsic motivation for WANTING to incorporate nutrition info into my food choices. I wanted to add broccoli ? to my mac n cheese (for the most part!) because my body felt better eating veggies and I knew how the rich green color of it provided micronutrients to help my body function properly ➡️ allowing me to live a long, healthy and happy life filled with memories and joy!

The secret sauce to finding “balance” is to not think about nutrition as what you’re TOLD to do ?♀️ but rather use a feelings based approach. THIS is how you begin to enjoy veggies ? you learn to understand how they make your body feel, how they benefit from it, etc.
