1️⃣ You don’t need to lose weight for health because the weight loss isn’t where health improvements come from
2️⃣ It may very well be beneficial for you to incorporate certain health promoting behaviors like moving your body, eating fruits & veggies, moderate alcohol consumption, etc
3️⃣ Weight loss might be a result of those behaviors but it also might not ?‍♀️ that doesn’t negate the positive impacts of those behaviors
.
I think we really need to stop saying “lose weight for health” because we have too much data that shows how focusing on weight loss isn’t sustainable or healthy. Instead we need to say “how can I honor my health with health promoting behaviors?”
