Take this as your little reminder today that “cutting back” to “save calories” or “make up” for something is gonna backfire and it’s not your fault.
.
Imma give you an analogy here ?
.
Imagine you’re swimming from one end of a long pool to the other ?‍♀️totally under water. You come up and lots of deep, fast breaths getting AS MUCH air as you can, right?!? But when you have air all around you ya take it in as you need it and don’t take giant inhales. Right?
.
Same with food. You restrict it and you’re setting your body up to take a BUNCH in at once and in a way that probably doesn’t feel the best. This isn’t your lack of willpower, it’s basically your body sending out a bat signal saying “I need fuel! And the quickest type!” (lookin’ at you, sugar!)
.
Instead, if there is a food you feel out of control around here is what you want to do:
.
1️⃣ eat enough food over all and from all food categories
.
2️⃣ find ways to eat that food more often! Yep! Take some sugar cookie and crumble it on top of a smoothie. Pour a bit of eggnog on your warm oatmeal. Etc! This works to “normalize” the food so there is less of a “gotta get it now or never!” feeling.
