Both of these can be the choice of an intuitive eater. And that choice can change day to day. So… how do you know which one to pick?!
.
1️⃣ Ask yourself if implementing gentle nutrition would take away from your enjoyment/satisfaction. If not, sure, aim to add some protein, whole grains, fiber, etc!
.
2️⃣ Ask yourself if you’d feel guilt, stress or anxiety NOT implementing gentle nutrition. If you would? Then don’t add it! The signals that you have a food rule that needs breaking!
.
In this example we’ve got just plain ol’ cereal and milk on one side. And on the other we’ve got some of the cereal, greek yogurt (protein boost!) and a bit of peanut butter (a little health promoting and feel-full fat!)
.
Both of these are absolutely fabulous ways to enjoy some fruity loops! ?Neither is “better” or “worse” than the other. They’re just different. ?‍♀️One might nourish our body more than the other and one might nourish our soul more than the other.❤️
.
So when you’re deciding what to eat, think about both ➡️what is satisfying? And what will make my body feel good? Sometimes one might outweigh the other and that’s a-ok. As an intuitive eater that “#balance” comes naturally.
