Savory silky smooth chilled tofu?
Happy Monday, friends?. Sharing a simplest dish today that is perfect for warm weather, a refreshing & appetizing cold tofu.?
Have you had cold savory tofu before? I love this dish growing up especially during hot days. My mom usually prepare other dishes to go with it and I always reached out for this during dinner.?
Made mine a little different than mom and grated fruit to give this dish a tangy flavor.
Best tofu choices for this dish is ‘silky soft’ or ‘soon tofu’. Soft tofu has the highest water content thus lower protein count. To me, it has less soy flavor compare to firm tofu.☺️
~ 1 pack soft tofu (12oz)
~ 1/4 cups shredded cucumber
~ 2 tablespoons grated apple (used Fuji)
~ 3 teaspoons soy sauce
~ 1 teaspoon stir fry sauce (see picture under ‘Sauces’ on highilghts)
~ 1 teaspoon chili crisp (see picture under ‘Sauces’ on highilghts)
~ drizzle of toasted sesame oil
~ pinch of sesame seeds
~ dashes of white pepper
Drain a pack of soft tofu, then place tofu on a plate & top with sauce and shredded cucumber. Drizzle with toasted sesame oil and garnish with sesame seeds & dashes of white pepper.
Super simple and quick, this is a great dish addition to our meal when we are in hurry.?
