Those who say that we live in a time when there are no hero’s just don’t know where to look.
To find a real hero, sometimes all we have to do is look closer to home.
Few things in the world are more powerful or memorable than a father’s positive presence throughout the years.
The sound of his footsteps on the stairs. His laughter at the dinner table. His cheers from the sidelines. His words of optimism and hope. A “you can do it” when the going gets tough.
Joseph Campbell once wrote that a hero is someone who has given his life and his heart to something bigger than himself.
What a perfect way to describe a great dad.
A great dad is one who gives more than he takes. Picks us up when we are down. Believes in up before we believe in ourselves. Inspires us to expand and embrace what’s possible. Challenges us to make a difference in the world. Shares our tears and laughter.
Celebrates our hopes, dreams, and accomplishments.
And, in the end, he helps us realize that we can be hero’s too.

Happy Father’s Day to each of you, but especially to my ex husband who has been the BEST Father to our four children!
