ad You don’t know how excited I am that two @followyourheart dairy-free cheeses (Smoked Gouda Slices and Medium Cheddar Slices) and their Vegenaise mayo are now stocked at @tescofood! To celebrate I created this smoked gouda white sauce pizza with mushrooms and spinach – it’s so good! The sauce is rich, smokey and creamy and is the perfect base for this homemade pizza! These dairy alternatives are so tasty, versatile and just as good as the ‘real thing’ – you’d never know this pizza is dairy-free or vegan! Serve with a big dollop of their Vegenaise mayo to dip those crunchy crusts in and you’ve got yourself one of the best vegan pizzas around! ?#veganpizza
.
Recipe (makes 2 pizzas)
White sauce:
25g vegan butter
20g plain flour
175ml plant milk (I used oat milk)
4 @followyourheart Smoked Gouda Slices
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Everything else:
2 pizza bases
5 chestnut mushrooms, sliced
4 handfuls spinach, cooked and water squeezed out
Fresh basil
Chilli flakes
@followyourheart Vegenaise for dip!
Method:
Preheat the oven to 250C/480F.
Melt vegan butter in a saucepan on low heat. Once melted add the flour and mix until it forms a roux.
Add plant milk gradually whilst whisking until it forms a sauce.
Cut up @followyourheart Smoked Gouda Slices and add with the mustard. Continue to whisk until all the cheese is melted. Add a little more plant milk if needed.
Spread onto pizza bases, add mushrooms and spinach and a drizzle of oil.
Bake for 8-12 minutes until the crust is crispy and the sauce is bubbling!
Drizzle with some olive oil, cracked black pepper and chilli flakes.
Serve with @followyourheart Vegenaise and enjoy!
