VEGGIE STRAWS VS McDONALDS FRIES ?
⠀
❌More fat per 100 g than McDonald’s fries ???! ⠀
⠀
100 g Veggie straws: 22.6 g total fat & 483 calories
VS
100 g McDonald’s fries: 16.8 g total fat and 319 calories
⠀
❌Less than 100 calorie is cleverly advertised on the front but the serve size (15 g) isn’t mention (which really is sweet FA).
⠀
Looking at the INGREDIENTS LIST:
❌ First ingredient is vegetable 71% – potato
❌ All the other ‘veggies’ are powders – spinach powder, tomato powder, beetroot powder ??♀️?
❌ Sunflower oil/canola oil is the second ingredient therefore it is high in fat
⠀
SO I GUESS we could call them potato chips with veggie powders ??♀️
⠀
Don’t ❌ let clever marketing trick you! ALWAYS read the labels and make the right choice for you.
⠀
I’m NOT saying pick McDonald’s fries ? but at least they aren’t pretending to be a healthy option by adding vegetable powders and then calling them ‘veggie fries’ ??♀️
