Carb-phobia is still rife yo. They’ve had a seriously hard time over the years – constantly being ‘cut’ and ‘eliminated’ 💔⠀

In truth, no food is inherently good or bad – carbs included. (Even refined/processed/simple carbs 🍞🥞🍪🍩)⠀

And as with all foods, certain carbs will be more beneficial to our physical health, and other carbs will be less so. This doesn’t mean both can’t be present in a balanced diet 💃⠀

Different carbohydrates will have a different effect on things like our energy levels, hunger, satiety and happiness (v important.) Sometimes a 3 bean salad will feel more appropriate, other times a double dipped chocolate spread doughnut will. (Or 2. #AboutLastFriday.)⠀

There’s more to food than just whatever food group they’re mostly made up of – but remember everything can be enjoyed in MoDeRaTioN regardless 👅⠀
