“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” -Brene Brown. VULNERABILITY has always been the most difficult concept for me to grasp. I feel as if is easier sometimes to love someone else for both their strengths and flaws than it is to accept yourself for both. I live my life with kindness, but I have not always been the kindest to myself. I have forgiven people who have hurt me the most, but at times it’s been difficult to cut myself some slack for making mistakes…for being human. Growing up in a family where we were praised for our strengths, it took me a long time to see my failures as learning experiences rather than weaknesses. It is still a work in progress to allow myself to be vulnerable, to take my walls down and allow the possibility of getting hurt. Just a friendly reminder that we cannot have joy without experiencing sadness, we cannot appreciate success without knowing failure, we cannot love with our whole hearts until we allow our whole hearts to be open. I just spent a few days with people who I’ve developed close relationships as a result of showing up…letting my whole self be seen. Allowing others to make the choice to accept you and love you can be a scary thing…but it can also be the most rewarding. Life is for the living all ❤️❤️❤️ Happy weekend loves! Also tagging a few who inspire me to be vulnerable on this platform. •
