For the love of all that is holy, can we please stop with the delusion that tomatoes can be bread in any way??? ?
OMG, diet culture is freaking ridiculous! ?
Listen, if you want a burger with some extra veggies and are not feeling’ the bread – that’s fine? Have a burger with extra veggies and no bread. PSA this is what you would call a burger SALAD? And that’s cool if it’s what you want.
But let’s be crystal clear that there is nothing wrong with enjoying your burger with actual bread?!! And you can always add extra veggies INSIDE the bun if that’s what you want. It doesn’t have to be an either/or situation.
Your body is smart, it knows what to do with both veggies and bread. And besides, eating what you actually want is so much more satisfying?
Restricting yourself from what you actually want to eat is exactly what CAUSES binge eating.
So as you head to your BBQ, remember that you are allowed to eat what you actually want AND enjoy it! Pay attention to how it tastes, how your body feels? – use it as an opportunity to listen to your body and take note of what it tells you. Every eating experience is a learning experience?
