Easy tofu ‘fish’ sticks with creamy homemade tartar sauce pasta…and always cra…

?Easy tofu ‘fish’ sticks with creamy homemade tartar sauce pasta…and always craving avocado!?I smothered some pasta with my homemade tartar sauce and it was delicious. So yummy when eaten with these tofu ‘fish’ sticks. Or you can serve the sticks with plain tartar sauce (recipe below) and ditch the pasta. ‘Fish’ stick texture is created by freezing the tofu first. Have an awesome day friends.?
?Recipe ‘fish’ sticks: Press 1-14oz block extra firm tofu to remove excess liquid. Cut into about 1/2 inch rectangles lengthwise and freeze on baking sheet for about 24 hours. Defrost and press tofu pieces again to remove excess liquid. (If you repeat this process and freeze the tofu again, it works even better but it’s not necessary.) Cut into 1/2 inch sticks. Mix: 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour (or preferred flour), 1/3 cup cornmeal, 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, 1/2 tsp salt to taste. Use flour mixture to coat tofu sticks thoroughly. Either bake tofu on lined baking sheet at 400F until golden brown, air fry at 400F until golden brown or pan fry by heating 1/4 inch oil in large skillet and pan fry tofu sticks until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes on each side. ?Recipe tartar sauce: Mix: 1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise, 2 tsp pickled horseradish, 1/2 tsp lemon pepper, 2 tsp fresh lemon juice. Mix with favorite pasta (or not) and serve with ‘fish’ sticks.
