Even though vegan restaurants are becoming more common they’re not available everywhere and some people still find it difficult to eat out. I have been adding tips in my stories to help you veganise common cuisines. If you’ve missed them click on the ‘Tips’ highlight button on my profile page and you’ll find them. In addition to those tips:
•
If you eat oil-free usually, ask if you meal can be made without oil. Stir-fry dishes can usually be steamed or instead of cooked in oil. Some vegetable dishes can also be grilled instead of fried.
•
Instead of using dressings, use lemon juice, hot sauce or balsamic vinegar. If it’s convenient, carry around a small bottle of sriracha for emergencies. I did that a lot in the beginning ?
•
Choose a salad when everything else fails or if in doubt. If the salad comes with chicken or meat, ask the waiter/waitress to leave them out and ask for extra vegetables.
•
Always look at the side options on the menu. There are usually vegetable dishes like spinach, steamed rice, beans, edamame, or potatoes. You’ll just need to check that they’ve not been cooked in butter.

My dinner is super simple. I’ve just tossed pasta in vegetable broth with lots of garlic, parsley and thyme #simpleveganfood
