Good Evening Lovelies! I hope you’re having a restful Saturday so far? I made myself jacket 🥔 with spicy black bean chilli, crushed 🥑 and steamed spinach. This meal was so good – there’s just something about beans with perfectly ripe avocado and baked potato 😋 The basic recipe for the beans is already on my blog🙂. The only adjustment is that I’ve used chipotle paste instead of the red chilli and I’ve left out 🌽. You can find the recipe by tapping on the 🔗in my bio.
✨Potato Myths 💫
{1😮} Eating potatoes causes obesity. The assumption that potatoes are an energy-dense food may be based on their carbohydrate content, which contributes approximately 95% of the total calories, but that doesn’t mean that eating potatoes causes weight gain. In fact, a 3-oz serving of baked potato, including the skin, has only 94 calories compared to a 3-oz portion of cooked pasta with 158 calories.
{2😏} Potatoes aren’t a good source of protein. One medium-sized baked potato contains 4g of high-quality protein. The quality of the potato protein, which reflects its digestibility and amino acid content, is 90-100 and is higher than any other commonly-consumed vegetable protein.
✨Potato Facts 💫
{1✨} Potatoes are a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin C, and niacin. They also contain potassium, copper, manganese, and phosphorus.
{2✨} White 🥔 contain more potassium per standard serving than any other vegetable, while being low in sodium and saturated fat.
{3✨} Include the skin when you prepare 🥔 and they’re also a good source of fibre.
