I LOVE a runny egg yolk🍳😋! Unfortunately, there used to be days where I cut that joy right out of my egg and have egg white omelets. I’m never going back to what I now call Joyless Eggs😥🚫! (if you genuinely like egg white omelets, that’s cool, its just not my thing – especially when it was rooted in food rules!) Either way, why did I think egg yolks were a problem? Because I believed they were👇⠀

🔸️There is no one food that determines your weight (especially when factors beyond food are at play #genetics). The yolk is also a great source of nutrients such as choline (good for your brain), lutein (benefits your eyes), vitamin B12, and fat soluble vitamins A, D, E (which means you NEED fat for the body to absorb them). .⠀

🔸️Yes, it has cholesterol. But only about 25% of the populations’ cholesterol levels are affected by dietary cholesterol (what you eat). Even then, unless you are having several eggs per day you will be fine! Also, cholesterol & heart health have a strong genetic factor! A person can eat well & still have elevate cholesterol, it is not as straight forward as what you eat (although food can have an impact, but it is the overall eating pattern + lifestyle that matters) so basically, ENJOY YOUR EGGS!!⠀

.⠀ If you are concerned about your cholesterol levels, instead of restricting & fearing foods, start with the following: .⠀

1. Ask: what can I ADD to my meal that I know helps reduce cholesterol? For example, be intentional to ADD some fruit🍓 or vegetables 🥕to whatever you are already eating. .⠀

2. Move more🏃‍♀️! The benefits of exercise on heart health are well documented. Find a physical activity you’d like to explore more & feel the difference! .⠀
