Herbs and spices can literally make or break food. Without them, you’ll have very bland, tasteless food. Too much and you’ll end up with something inedible.

There are certain herbs and spices that go very well together, and you can tell easily by looking at the way they’re used in different cuisines. Sometimes you can mix spices that you think have no business being put together and come up with something epic and other times it is a disaster. If you’re new to cooking, the best thing to do is go with simple combinations and as you get more confident experiment and develop your own signature blends.

Some of my my go to herbs and spices include:
Coriander
Parsley
Basil
Thyme
Rosemary
Chervil (similar to parsley)
Herbs de Provence
Italian herb mix
Tarragon
Oregano
Cumin
Paprika (smoked & sweet)
Ground coriander
Ginger
Garam masala
Curry powder
Cinnamon
Chilli powder
Black pepper

Also I just want to add that I’m not a trained chef, I’m just a regular girl that enjoys cooking. Most of my knowledge has come from cooking with my mum as a kid, watching cooking shows on TV and sheer experimentation ?
