?Maple soy glazed Brussels with NEW black bean recipe?(Tips for using frozen Brussels too.)
?I’ve been away from home and at the mercy of my much fewer spices?. I did find some celery seed and decided to use it in this black bean recipe. If you don’t have any, you can just omit it, but I did like the strong flavor punch (kind of lemony) that it added. Recipe works great without it too. These Brussels were the bomb. Sending ? to everyone. Happy Easter.?
?Recipe Brussels: ✅Add to large bowl: 3 cups halved Brussels sprouts, 1/4 cup coconut aminos/low-sodium tamari or soy sauce, 2 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 minced garlic clove, a few turns cracked black pepper. ✅Mix or use hands to combine and coat all the Brussels. ✅Bake at 400F on lined baking sheet until golden, about 15 minutes. ✅Broil for a couple minutes to get that charred finish. ✅(For frozen, put the oven on 450F and place your non-stick baking dish inside (empty) while oven heats up. When your dish is heated, put whole frozen Brussels on it and bake for 15 minutes. Remove them, add seasoning, and bake another 10-15.)
?Recipe beans: ✅Sauté 1 chopped onion in olive oil or broth until translucent, about 5 minutes. ✅Add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook another 30 seconds. ✅Add 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp cumin,1 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp chipotle, 1/2 tsp mustard seed, 1/4-1/2 tsp celery seed (optional). ✅Sauté another minute or until fragrant. ✅Add 1-15oz can black beans with liquid and 1-15oz can tomato sauce. ✅Bring to a boil before reducing heat and simmer 15 minutes. ✅Add squeeze of fresh lime. Salt to taste. ✅Optional: you can adjust the flavor with some maple syrup, tamari or vegan Worcestershire sauce if desired. .
