One of the things I’m letting go of in 2019 is the mentality of not feeling good enough. I see people posting amazing photos of a lifestyle I would like for myself. When I think about it critically I usually realise that I don’t really want that lifestyle. It is not me. It looks good in photos but in reality it is not my personality.
To someone else, self care may mean going to the most exotic spa or going to Bali or some other exotic destination. For me, that is not realistic. Self care for me is usually reading a book or listening to music. I also love to take myself to a restaurant (nothing particularly fancy) and just treating myself to a nice meal. You’d be surprised how much nicer food tastes when you take time to savour the flavours and really engage in your meal.
I guess what I’m trying to say here is that we need to leave the comparison game in 2019. It is awesome to take inspiration from others, but don’t let what you see make you doubt yourself or feel like you’re underachieving. Your definition of a great life may not be what mine is and that’s OK.
I treated myself to lunch at ASK Italian today. More details about what I had will be on my blog 😊
Have a happy Saturday! 💙 #selfcare #wholefoodsdiet #lentilragu
