Baked Curly Fries ???: Lets begin the week with fries. Curly fries are tasty & fun to eat but they do need a bit more attention when baking. Why? I used a spiralizer for this recipe to cut the fries & noticed the outside cuts are big rings, the middle cuts are long wavy strings, & the center cuts are tight corkscrews. So that means they are all different sizes & may not bake evenly ?What to do? Cut the long strings into equal size pieces & check the oven often after the half way point. Take out the fries that crisp up earlier so they don’t burn.?Now on to the recipe:
What you need: 2 medium Yukon gold potatoes spiralized, 1 tbl grapeseed oil (or oil with a high smoke point)2 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp cayenne powder 1/8 tsp black pepper
1️⃣ Cut longer pieces into 3 inch/ or equal sized pieces
2️⃣Soak fries in cold water for 20min
3️⃣Dry thoroughly using kitchen towel
4️⃣Place in a large bowl, add oil to coat, then all the seasoning
5️⃣On a full-size sheet pan that was preheated in the oven, place parchment paper on pan, then arrange fries trying not to overlap, bake 17-20 min at 425 F flipping half way through/while also rotating pan. Remember to check often to take out pieces that may cook quicker.
6️⃣ Add more seasoning if desired.Enjoy immediately & serve with your favorite dip. I served mine with my healthy no-oil, nut-free cheeze sauce & fresh herbs ( find the recipe 4 rows down)
