Happy Tuesday! ❤️ starting this busy day with some buckwheat porridge ? I’ve never tried buckwheat before, so when I walked past it during my weekly grocery shop I couldn’t pass it up! Did you know that buckwheat is actually a pseudograin and a berry, the same way as quinoa? This means it’s higher in protein than other grains, which makes it a great oatmeal replacement in the morning if you feel like switching it up ☺️ To make: soak 1 cup of buckwheat in 1.5 cups of water overnight or for at least an hour. In the morning, all you’ll have to do is rinse off the soaked buckwheat and blend it in a blender with any flavouring you choose! I did cinnamon, maple syrup and vanilla then added banana and peanut butter at the end. Let me know if you’ve ever tried buckwheat before, and how you like to cook it! ?
