What’s your favorite food? ??????Let me know in the comments!???⠀

Peanut butter has always been one of my favorite foods. ?But, after noticing a small 5lb weight gain when I went off to college 9 years ago (hello dorm food!) I avoided eating it and when I did, I limited the amount to 1 tbsp or less at a time. I thought that I had to start “controlling” my food intake to prevent further weight gain. I felt so sad every time I busted out my measuring spoons to portion a measly tbsp. ?I did this for 6 years! ?Restricting the PB deliciousness not only made me sad, but it actually caused me to BINGE on it. My 1 tbsp at a time food rule had backfired, as all food rules do.⠀

I remember one day during summer break?, while I was staying at my parents house in Michigan, my mom actually asked where all of the peanut butter had gone. ?I was SO embarrassed to say I had eaten it….all. I’d binged it and felt guilty and embarrassed. It was in that moment that I knew my peanut butter restriction was NOT healthy- mentally or physically! ?‍♀️I started slowly. First by not using a measuring spoon, then working up to portion sizes that actually left me satisfied and happy. ?Today, I enjoy however much peanut butter I want with NO fear, guilt or anxiety. ??⠀
