The obvious difference here is that the weight loss side lacks rice. Don’t associate this with meaning that rice makes you gain weight. Rice is perfectly fine to eat in a balanced diet and you could still include it in the weight loss portion but you would have to cut back on something else. It’s the extra calories that lead to weight gain, not some magic from insulin like some people will lead you to believe. The weight loss side also used a bit more of a conservative approach when it came to oil used during the cooking process. If you want to save on fat then baking your meats will help tremendously.⠀

The question I always receive on this meal is about the guacamole and browning. I have found that the best way to prevent browning is to store it in a small container with a lid. If you slightly overfill the container so that the guacamole is pressed up right against the lid it will create an airtight seal and help to prevent browning. Some people suggest lemon or lime juice squeezed over the top but I have never had success with this.
