Boost Your Iron Levels
UP YOUR IRON..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To answer your question @meechity ?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Getting enough iron can be tough for people who don’t eat a lot of red meat, in pregnancy and for Vegetarians and Vegans.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Iron in non-animal sources (non-haem iron) is not as easily absorbed as iron from animal sources (Haem iron). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Listed are some of the best vegan sources from the top left corner
• Beans (black beans, chick peas, kidney beans, etc)
• Lentils
• Tofu
• Leafy greens (Spinach, Kale, Broccoli ?)
• Quinoa
• Tempeh
• Soy beans (Edamame)
• Chia seeds
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tips for enhancing absorption:
✔️Avoid tea, coffee or cocoa during or directly before or after meals. Polyphenols in these drinks inhibit iron absorption
✔️Calcium also hinders iron absorption so avoid having high calcium foods 30 mins pre and post iron intake
✔️Pairing non-haem iron containing foods with foods rich in Vitamin C enhances absorption. This is easy for leafy greens because they’re high in Vitamin C also ????
Well folks, grab your pens and notebooks because we’re diving into the world of dressing like a fashionista on a budget!
Picture this: you’re strolling through the mall, eyes sparkling with visions of trendy outfits dancing in your head. But then reality hits you like a ton of bricks – those designer duds come with a price tag that could rival a small country’s GDP. Fear not, my fellow fashion enthusiasts, for there is hope yet!
Let’s start with the basics – thrift stores. Don’t turn up your nose at the idea of secondhand shopping, folks. You never know what gems you might find lurking in those racks of forgotten clothing. I once snagged a vintage leather jacket for a mere fraction of its original cost, and let me tell you, I felt like a million bucks strutting down the street in that bad boy.
Now, onto the art of DIY fashion. Who says you have to fork over your hard-earned cash for a trendy graphic tee when you can make your own? Grab a plain white shirt, some fabric paint, and let your creativity run wild. Not only will you save some moolah, but you’ll also have a one-of-a-kind piece to show off to your friends.
And last but not least, online shopping. Ah, the digital age has truly revolutionized the way we shop. With just a few clicks of a button, you can score some killer deals on websites like Poshmark and ThredUp. I recently snagged a pair of designer jeans for a fraction of the retail price, and let me tell you, my wallet thanked me for it.
So there you have it, dear readers – dressing like a fashionista on a budget is not only possible, but it can also be a fun and rewarding experience. Remember, it’s not about how much you spend, but how you style it that counts. Happy shopping!
