?Brush Teeth – this is such a simple tactic and so effective. Brushing your teeth after a meal gives you that mental signal that you’re done eating for a period of time. Typically it’s the last thing we do at night, so you won’t actually think about eating again for a while

?Big Meals – sounds obvious – but eat a big meal. For me over eating always comes between meals. The quick and easy snacks when I’m bored. So big meals keep me feeling full for longer, so even when I do get bored I don’t have the appetite to eat

?Triggers – figure out what’s causing it. For me it’s boredom, for others its stress. Whatever it is for you – figure it out. You can’t tackle a problem if you don’t know the cause

?Treats – in the past I’ve struggled with over eating on snacks I felt deprived of. Craving chocolate but knowing I “can’t have it”. So if that’s you – work them into your plan. It’s better to have a little of something within your plan than a lot of it outside your plan!

?Stress – Reducing your stress gets your head back in the game. It puts you in a better position to identify your triggers and come up with a better solution to your craving other than milling a jar of Nutella

?Veggies – they keep you full and are super good for you. Eating veggies actually puts me in that “healthy” mindset, so I’m less inclined to over eat and “undo” the good work I’ve done!
