Loving a bit of pink in my steak since well done meats are recommended during pregnancy. Did you know that reducing red meat is actually advised to help with fertility? I’ve had a few questions about nutrition to optimise fertility so here’s a few tips (according to some research out of Harvard):
➡️ Reduce red meat and replace it with plant proteins (legumes, lentils, nuts and seeds).
➡️ If you are overweight put in strategies to get within or closer to a healthy weight.
➡️ Choose whole grains over refined carbs. Moderation of total carb intake can be useful for some people but this needs to be decided and planned in consultation with a Dietitian.
➡️ Drink mostly water. Skip the sugary drinks. Keep caffeine moderate – 1 coffee per day is a good aim. Alcohol should also be moderated.
➡️ Avoid trans fats and include unsaturated vegetable oils like that from avocado and extra virgin olive oil.
➡️ The study actually favoured whole dairy products over reduced fat/skim products.

See a Dietitian to help you work through these steps and apply them to your diet.
