These are: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine – and they’re all found in avocado!
They are called ‘essential’ because our bodies require them in developing and healing muscles, cells, and body systems. Our bodies cannot produce these proteins, so they have to come from the food we consume.
This makes avocado a fitting accompaniment for fitness + muscle building/retention + weight loss goals!
Ridiculously GOOD party-time Guacamole Recipe: (double this recipe *hint*)
6 Haas avocados, just the flesh
2-3 fresh limes, juiced
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp cumin
1/2 medium red onion, diced tiny
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced tiny
3 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
Small handful chopped cilantro leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced
Mash avocado to desired consistency…some like it thick…some like it creamy.
Add remaining ingredients, combine gently.
Let flavors combine for 20 minutes, serve.
