THE Best Caprese + Balsamic Reduction
A taste of Summertime! ???♀️
Tomatoes, Mozzarella, and fresh Basil drizzled with a sweet Balsamic Reduction and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Simple, impressive and SO darn delicious! .
Makes 3-4 appetizer servings
Ingredients:
1/2 cup high quality balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsps raw honey
2 large heirloom tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch slices
8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1/4 tsps sea salt
1/4 tsps fresh ground black pepper
1 bunch fresh large basil leaves, stems removed
2-3 Tbsps high quality extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions:
Whisk balsamic vinegar and honey together in a very small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, immedietly reduce heat to low, then simmer until the vinegar mixture has reduced about 8 minutes.
Set aside to cool.
Arrange alternate slices of stacked tomato, mozzarella, and basil leaves nicely on a serving platter as shown, making several “towers”. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper, then drizzle with olive oil and your balsamic reduction.
Enjoy immediately with friends and savor Summer 2019.
