SPAGHETTI/FETTUCCINE VS TOFU NOODLES (SAUCE NOT INCLUDED) ???

These translucent silky tofu noodles, which are super low in calories and carbohydrates are used as part of an alternative for pasta in my diet quite often! But how does it actually compare to regular pasta? Does it taste the same? Is it easy to cook with? Check it out ☺️???:

?CALORIES: –
One pack/cup contains only 20 calories with 6g carbs. Spaghetti on the other hand contains over 400 calories for the same amount with over 80g in carbs. –

?TASTE & TEXTURE:

These low carb noodles don’t perfectly mimic the taste and texture of regular spaghetti but much like pasta, shirataki noodles are mostly neutral in flavor and can absorb the tastes you cook with. To be fair, shirataki has a slimier consistency and you won’t be able to choose the hardness of your pasta because the noodles are already “cooked.” shirataki noodles come pre-packaged in liquid, portioned out in a plastic bag that gets refrigerated. The noodles are watery and emanate a faint, fishy odor (though they’re 100% vegan), which comes from the plant they are made from. –

?PRICE: –

Just one pack of shirataki tofu noodles is valued around 4$ (Canadian) vs you can snag a much larger bag of pasta at a cheaper price. –

?HOW TO COOK: –

I recommend rinsing, draining and drying the noodles before cooking with them! This will help reduce the smell. It takes a few minutes for the noodles to absorb sauce/seasoning so make sure you treat it like stirfry and let the moisture evaporate-

?Tofu noodles is a great alternative to regular pasta to those looking for something gluten-free, low-carb, diet-friendly or lighter in calories and in the stomach. ?
