? Zero Calorie Vegetables ?

Let’s keep it ?… are these vegetables REALLY zero calorie?

? Yes!… No…. Well, sort of! Let me explain!!
⠀⠀
? The truth is that while these veggies do contain some calories, the relative amount of calories per serving is so dramatically low that the likelihood of you overeating on these foods and messing up your diet is ‘insanely slim’ to ‘not gonna happen.’
⠀⠀
??♂️ For example, 1 cup of asparagus has just 27 calories, 1 cup of cucumber has just 16 calories, baby spinach has just 7 and lettuce has just 5.
⠀⠀
?? So as you can see, the amount of calories here is negligible especially when you consider the following:
⠀⠀
1️⃣ These veggies are high-volume (lots of food for little number of calories)
⠀⠀
2️⃣ They’re high-fiber (supports gut health and is often neglected in our diets)
⠀⠀
3️⃣ They require more energy to digest since their micronutrient and fiber density
⠀⠀
⭐️ And the reason I call them zero calorie is because I do not track them in my macros.
⠀⠀
? Why? Well, simply because treating them as “zero” incentivizes me to eat more of them (health) and it allows me to not stress about something as minute as 10 calories from a massive 2 cups of lettuce.

And, assuming you’re tracking macros, I’d encourage you to take this same approach!
