Most of my dinners are portioned like this. Mostly salad, a serve of protein, a smaller amount of carbs (there’s wholemeal flour in the zucchini quiche) and some healthy fats. Filling half of your plate with salad and/or vegetables is one of the BEST things you can do to improve your health and lose weight (if that’s your goal). Currently only 4% of Australians eat enough vegetables!!

• You’ll eat less calories without having to calorie count.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• High fibre intake means your digestion will improve which will prevent you feeling sluggish.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Fibre also leads to short chain fatty acid production in the large intestine which has anti-inflammatory effects for our bodies so has potential benefits for a range of chronic conditions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Prebiotic fibre and resistant starch specifically will help the good bacteria in your gut multiply.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Adequate vitamin and mineral intake means your bodies metabolic processes will work as efficiently as possible.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• You’ll feel fuller for longer!
