Sometimes it IS a plain ol’ box of mac n cheese.

Sometimes it’s a nice serving of broccoli.

Most of the time, it’s a mix of both types of foods- the more “soul nourishing” like mac n cheese and the more nutrient rich, “body nourishing” foods like broccoli. ➡️ If you haven’t tried using a boxed mac n cheese and adding a steamable microwaveable bag of broccoli then ya gotta give it a try! Bonus points for adding everything but the bagel seasoning on top! I eat this weekly- so good!

Intuitive eating gets bastardized on social media a lot saying it’s “just encouraging unhealthy eating behaviors”, which just isn’t true. And I truly do get why people think this way. There is a ton of emphasis on the foods that are more demonized by diet culture and not as much on the more “balanced” choices that are made more often than not.

True intuitive eating is about, yes, allowing yourself to enjoy the ooey gooey mac n cheese but also honoring what you know your body needs and what will make it feel good.
