Currently learning about how the Mediterranean diet can slow the progression of dementia & Alzheimer’s disease in those with or without a family history of the disease. It really is quite fascinating how much diet affects our overall health and how what you do today can have great implications on your future health. One thing that many people continue to ignore is that genetics, lifestyle factors and environment also have a major impact on your health too. You may be eating all the things that you think are right for you, but if your body is not responding correctly, it may be that you need to tweak your diet some more (to suit your genetics) and also optimise your lifestyle (physical activity, alcohol, smoking, living in a polluted area) etc. Always remember that diet is personal and whenever you hear that one size fits all, run for dear life ?
On my plate, spicy mushroom & chicken pasta. This was so simple, I simply stir-fried some mushrooms and chicken, added a couple tablespoons of tomato sauce, seasoned with salt, pepper, chilli & oregano and then added some pre-cooked pasta. Super simple and super delish ?
