Honestly if you want to eat a cookie just eat the one that you like the most. % sugar free claims can make you believe one cookie is superior to another but in reality there’s often minimal difference.

Take these for example. There’s only 10 calories difference between the two and the normal cookie has 1tsp of sugar. In my opinion you’d sacrifice a lot of flavour for 10 calories and 1 tsp of sugar. Our bodies do quite well processing small amounts of added sugar btw.

Not only this but the ‘97% sugar free’ cookie contains a sugar alcohol called maltitol. Maltitol is poorly absorbed by the gut (hence lots of sweetness for minimal ‘sugar’) and for some people with a sensitive gut- it can cause gut symptoms like bloating, gas and diarrhoea.
