I have! ?‍♀️ Heck, I’ve written articles on it! ?And while yes there are foods that your skin might love in particular, those foods won’t really do a thing for you if you’re not eating enough or are restricting certain food groups. ?‍♀️All of those “beauty benefits” will just go towards giving you energy to survive.

I’ve been thinking about the topic of beauty lately. ? I just had a birthday. I’m getting older. I bought a vitamin c serum and some retinol cream. ?‍♀️I found myself asking “Is this just me succumbing to beauty culture?” Here is my answer?:

I view beauty, makeup, etc. in the same way I view gentle nutrition. It’s okay to do something like say eating carrots because they’re packed with nutrients or putting some eye cream on, but only if NOT doing those things doesn’t make you feel guilty/stressed/anxious. ❤️ You’d be okay if you were out enjoying life having ice cream for lunch and cake for dinner without worry. And you’d be okay with running out of your eye cream or if you saw some lines pop up on your forehead.
