SUPERFOODS TO INCLUDE PART 2

My FREE myth busting course in my bio includes a section on 5 superfoods to stop wasting your money on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I literally do not spend any money on expensive powders. All of the ‘superfoods’ I buy are regular kitchen staples.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Coffee- yas! It’s rich in antioxidants. Coffee is only an ‘issue’ if you’re caffeine sensitive or if you have too much leading to feelings of jitteriness or anxiety. Two cups of cafe style coffee or 4 instant is generally ok for most people.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Cottage cheese- great for calcium and a low calorie source of protein. You’ll get about 10g of protein per 100g.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Apples. Rich in fibre (leave the skin on) and many vitamins including C.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Extra virgin olive oil. Rich in antioxidants and actually (contrary to popular belief) the best oil to cook with. Comment below if you want more info on this.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Pomegranate. Rich in gut loving prebiotic fibre as well as loads of micronutrients.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Legumes – Perfect way to get in protein without the saturated fat that comes from animal foods. Also rich in fibre!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Oily fish such as canned and farmed salmon, Sardines, Baramundi, sword fish and trout. The omega-3 has been shown to be protective for heart health and other chronic diseases.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Broccoli – Rich in fibre, B vitamins, vitamin C and loads of minerals like zinc, iron, magnesium.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Turmeric. Turmeric contains the biologically active component curcumin, which gives Turmeric its yellow colour. It has been shown to have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some animal and in vitro (test tube) studies show potential benefits of Curcumin for Alzheimer’s disease and cancer prevention. More Human studies are needed, but given it is a safe spice, it is a good one to have in your spice rack.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Tea. Rich in antioxidants!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Onion – Perfect for some more gut loving prebiotic fibre.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Capsicum/Red bell peppers – have more vitamin C than oranges!
