Hands up if you agree that enjoying a treat with your sweetie sounds much more appealing than stressing over the impact of eating a solo cookie ?♀️?♂️
.
I would be lying if I said that at points in my life I was living the left side of this scenario. Whether I was single, dating, or even in my current relationship, I could catch myself thinking that too many sweets were “bad”. I would put down the cookie and go have a spoon of peanut butter to “satisfy” my sweet tooth, when I know I really just wanted chocolate. It’s not even that I was worried about this cookie changing the way I looked, it came from a place of “too many sweets just isn’t good for me”.
.
Instagram can be a funny place of highlight reels and healthy salads, and while I have happily found a place for eating a lot of cookies, ice cream, and chocolate alone and with my husband, I wanted to share that there is no such thing as being a perfect eater. Danny and I certainly aren’t perfect and have both come from struggles with eating, body image, and balancing our health, but I know that we are both SO much happier when we’re connecting, sharing memories, and feeling great eating salads or sweets ???
.
It feels a bit strange to be sharing this personal story with you all, but I think the reminder that a cookie is just a cookie- for him, for me, and for you- is so important to share. Eat foods that make you FEEL your best, and that bring you love and connectedness, and your health will certainly fall into place ?
Okay, enough of the heavy- enjoy your weekend, friends!!
